Welcome!

Are you looking for custom harmonicas, harmonica tools, and other harmonica resources? You are at the right place, and will find much more information to the left in the index. We will be adding a lot more links when we can find the time. Right now we have a link to Pat Missin’s site, a treasure trove of harmonica information that is not to be missed by anyone serious about learning more about the harmonica and other free reed instruments.

“Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creative”.
- Charles Mingus

“I have very simple tastes - I am always satisfied with the best” - anon

Who is Johnny Bishop?

Johnny Bishop is a harmonica player / harmonica technician who replaced enough reeds to set up a small army of harmonica players when he worked at Hohner in Virginia. This is just one detail of his story. He now lives in Vermont, and you will be hearing more about him on this website in the coming days. Stay tuned!

Article on Just Intonation…

I just published an article on just intonation and equal temperament at Tony Eyers harmonica website. My goal was to give you a way to understand these terms in plain language. Please let me know what you think of this article after you read it. Thanks! - Richard Sleigh

Kaizen!

If you find youraelf struggling to maintain a practice habit with the harmonica, then you will love this concept! More in the blog section……

The book “Turbocharge Your Harmonica, Volume 1″ will be printed and available this month (June 2009) - For more information, contact Richard Sleigh via this website - thanks! PS- I would underline the title of this book if I could figure out how to make this wordpress program do it, but no luck at the moment…..

UPDATE - Turbocharge Your Harmonica, Volume 1 “Straighten Up and Tune Right” really, really is close to being printed. The team has suffered one dead logic board and the resulting meltdown and recovery, but there is no power on this earth that is going to stop this book from being printed!

I now have a proof of the book, and I’m getting another sample made - I want the book to stand up on its own so you can see the color coded tuning charts easily. That is the last detail to deal with right now.
